Purr and Wag Society is an all volunteer, non-profit (501(c)3 organization. We are a private, no-kill foster organization/sanctuary that caters to adult pets (predominantly cats) who were brought in off the street, or whose caretakers gave them up for one reason or another. We place as many as we can and we truly care for our "unadoptables" for the rest of their lives. As a consequence we have quite a number of older, permanent pet residents in our sanctuary. Some of them have medical problems, were older than people wanted to adopt, or were too shy to be adoptable. We love them all and offer them a life-long home. Please note: We are unable to accept new animals at this time due to medical problems of our major foster mom. Unfortunately, it may be many months before we are in a position to take in anyone new. Our biggest expenses are for veterinary care, medical supplies, cat litter, and food.
Since most of the pets are older and many have developed food sensitivities over the years we have found a balanced home-prepared diet is very beneficial. We accept donations of various meats to use in preparing the food or gift cards for purchase of meats at local stores. We do everything as economically as possible while trying to provide well for our 4-legged residents. No funds are spent on salaries and we rely totally on volunteer assistance. Your tax-deductible donations may be mailed to: Purr and Wag Society
